Sometimes I see a picture of my friends' kiddo(s) on Facebook or Instagram and I think "Well, shoot...this needs to be on the blog!"
Sometimes I even work up the gull to ask...
Luckily, Mr. Liam and his momma have agreed to let me share pictures of this BA rockstar of an outfit with you. You can tell he was really feeling it.
He knows he looks good.
Below, our awesome guest blogger Liam is wearing:
-ACDC shirt
-Rocker jeans
-Old school ADIDAS kicks
Hello, dearest reader(s)! I hope you're having a nice week so far. I had to carve out a bit of time today to share OG's bright fashion moment from this past weekend!
We didn't really watch too much of the Olympic events or fanfare in the past few weeks, but we DID record a bit so we could watch the Lady-USA-Gymnastic-Heroes-Of-The-World. They did not disappoint! I now see what all the hubbub was about! I was hoping to catch some synchronized swimming, but I guess that coverage didn't make the cut. In short, whenever I saw anything of Olympic coverage it was 95% swimming (aka: OMGMICHAELPHELPS), 4% gymnastics, 1% other.
And don't get me wrong - these are amazing athletes and I would never be able to muster half of their dedication to anything athletic, but can we PLEASESTOPTALKINGABOUTMICHAELPHELPS?! Ugh. I'm over it.
Sorry, rant complete. So, this weekend...
As the Olympics were coming to a close, my sweet snugglenugget just happened to wear an outfit that rivaled those worn by the all-great FLO JO!
Or, at the very least, it was heavily inspired by Ms. JO.
What? Don't know who Flo Jo is? Oh my...ok...prepare...
Ms. Florence Griffith Joyner, World Record Winning Runner, 5-Time Olympic Medal Winner (1984-1988), Inspirational LadyBeast Extraordinaire!
Also known for her SUPER radical outfits/nails/color choices while she ran.
And it was the 80's, so that's saying a lot.
She. Was IS. Fabulous.
Behold:
Copycat OG was wearing:
-Team Pony track shorts with matching muscle-t (Target clearance was ON POINT last week)
-Blindingly bright orange sandals with flower detail
-Yellow pool diving ring "sweatband"
This girl gets a gold metal in my book! Flo Jo would be proud!
Oh, dearest reader(s)...I'm sorry I'm just getting around to posting pictures from last weekend, but it's been one of those weeksI'm a mom they are worth the wait!
OG ended up having quite the busy weekend hanging out with a bunch of her pals!
On Saturday:
OG threw on the closest sleeveless tee and shorts and we headed out to visit dada at work (overtime...blech).
"Ummm, he's busy working on a project...how may I help you?"
After that (well, after napnap), we went to Ms. Kristie's house to visit with Team Dunn. We were supposed to be doing hair and being productive, but instead we watched our kiddos play nicely together and relaxed/chatted/were not productive. :)
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the Charlie & OG hangouts!
Fashionista Charlie was wearing:
-A striped "pretty" with lace back detail
-OG's sunglasses
-Fancy white shoes
Werk! Work it girl!
Ms. OG was wearing:
-One of my favorite dresses that was too big for her last summer, and slightly too small for her this summer (it's 9m, but a large 9m!), so it looks like a micro-mini skirt dress.
Still cute as h-e-double-L though!
-A Doc McStuffins stethoscope
I love this dress. I love it on her. I would maybe even love it one me, but I don't have the skin tone to pull it off!
I love that we all have "derp" faces in multiple photos
Awwwwww xoxoxox
Then, on Sunday:
OG was invited to her very first birthday party! Her pal Isaac turned 2, and we were lucky enough to make the guest list.
I didn't take many pictures (at all...seriously, just this one), but OG picked out:
-Floral fancy dress (may look familiar from her Easter Pictures) from Target
OG & Isaac share a love of all things cars/trucks/garages <3
She also ran around in a swim diap, played in a sandbox, went down a "baby slide" into a "baby pool", met a horse dressed as a dog, ate ice cream, played with balloons and pooped the biggest poop I've ever seen.
Sorry, but it's true. #realtalk #keepingit100
Then...dada and I skipped work on Monday (hehe) because our friends, the Taulbouts's decided to come into town! Their son Declan is OG's due date twin, but we rarely get to see each other because they live in the far away lands of KY. We decided to hit up the zoo since Mr. Declan had never been to a zoo before.
OG wore:
-The "cool"est outfit we could find because it was 100+ degrees outside. UGH.
These cats are close! Let's investigate!
Declan knew to look for the hippos - OG just wanted to watch the fishies.
Feeding the giraffe! OG was a champ - not scared at all (even though we were past due for napnap).
Tired, sweaty children. (Not pictured: their tired, sweaty parents)
I am so glad we got to spend time with everyone - it was an amazing weekend!
Does anyone else feel like the weeks are just flying by? I don't know if it's because it's summer, because of all the craziness in the news/world/election, or if it's just me, but dang...it's now almost August?! Eesh.
So, speaking of time flying, OG, dada and I finally (cue the fireworks and celebratory music) made the long 10 minute trek (heh) to meet BabyCousinCampbell! In our defense, she was a preemie, so we wanted to make sure she was out of the "quarantine" stage before we bombarded her with our love.
Well, bombard we did! I hadn't given much thought to how OG would react to seeing BabyCousinCampbell because 1) she has a sudden love for babies (living and plastic) that started a couple of months ago and 2) she's just a laid back lady. Not much bothers her, unless she's tired.
I should have given more thought to her reaction. Also, it was nap time. Oops. Also also, she may have been having a "'Baby' Stole My Look" moment because - THEY HAD MATCHING OUTFITS! hehe.
Yep! Rewind to Tara's baby shower, when I noticed that Campbell received the same outfit I had just purchased for OG but in a tiny newborn size. So, the pact was made: once everyone could fit into their respective outfit, a photo would be taken!
The best laid plans...
OG and BabyCousinCampbell were wearing:
-Yellow elephant rompers with hot pink bows - so cute!
- Distress. May-day. SOS. Ayudame!
Alright, let me explain...yes, OG was tired, that was bad planning on my part. But then I accidentally underestimated OG's love for her momma and tried to hold the beautiful, tiny Campbell. OG was NOT having it. Momma IS NOT to be shared!
A line was crossed.
Needless to say, a chain reaction then developed. Sorry OG took you down to Sad Town, BabyCousinCampbell. :(
But seriously, am I a terrible mother for still loving these pictures? Hopefully there wasn't any permanent psychological damage and we can all laugh about this some day. Although, I am already laughing...look at their faces! Awwww xoxox
Woman down. This is not a drill.
Meanwhile, Campbell is like: "Dang, aren't you being a bit...dramatic? I don't bite (yet)!"
Eventually, everyone calmed down and things got a bit better. These two cuties were able to share the same airspace without shedding a tear. A truce was made!
I'm so excited for OG to have a little buddy to chase around. :)
And finally, as we were getting ready to go home for a much-needed napnap, something wonderful happened...
Friendship in the making!
A bond! (And a very cute shot of their matching outfits, but more importantly...) A bonding moment!
Thanks for having us over to visit, T & C! It was great to see you! We promise to be well-rested and not wear our jealous pants next time.
This past Sunday, OG and I took dada to breakfast at a quaint little place he'd mentioned the week prior. We loaded into the car, handed OG her new favorite book, Corduroy (which happens to have 2 pages of stickers slapped in the middle, hence - her new favorite) and headed out! When we arrived and dada pulled OG out of her seat...my heart exploded.
OG had placed a sticker of a bouquet of flowers on her upper arm/shoulder.
Wait for it...
Like momma's tattoo.
(Awww.....)
OG has been amused by my tattoos since birth, but particularly the flowers on my shoulder. At first, when she was a littletiny, she loved staring at all the colors. Then, when she was a bit older and started drawing and coloring, she found it interesting/humorous that momma had been colored upon. Now that OG knows about flowers - that they are pretty and smell sweet - she will sometimes sniff my arm and laugh. So as soon as I saw that she had placed this flower sticker on her shoulder...GAH!
I quickly mopped up my melted heart, gathered my emotions, and tried to remember that I was about to be in public - so I probably shouldn't happycry over a sticker.
YAY EMOTIONS! MOTHERHOOD!
Yeah, so...without further delay - please enjoy these pictures of Ms. OG with her little flower tattoo.
You may silently wonder about my sanity later. :)
OG is wearing:
-THE MOST ADORABLY LOVELY SHOULDER STICKER TATTOO
-A tank top
-Some yellow pants
-Yeah, yeah, shoes too, but did you see...
-THE LITTLE AMAZING STICKER ON HER TINY MUSCULAR BICEPT
Ok, I guess that outfit is pretty adorable too. And hello Minnie!
And she LOVES books - I couldn't be more proud. XOXOX
You might be thinking "Well, that's an adorable post! I bet they had a fun family breakfast!" - and you'd be correct. But...the biggest bonus of the day? Guess who else happened to go out for breakfast that morning?
BABYCOUSIN CAMPBELL! (with her parents, of course)
She is still very small and new to the world, so she wasn't able to join us at our table. However, we did get to watch her sleep for a bit and briefly catch up with cousin Tara and Grant. It was great to see them out as a family!
And that Ms. Campbell is just SO PRECIOUS.
Even though this picture isn't from Sunday, it IS from Campbell's first day home a few weeks back - and as you can see she's already bringing it on the fashion front!
We're excited to see you again soon, cousin Campbell!
OG and dada had a surprise Daddy Daughter Day last Tuesday! Grandma wasn't able to watch OG, and all of our back-up sitters were busy (and dada has more vacation time than momma - sad face) so...
Please welcome to our guest blogger, dada!
"On Tuesday, I (dada) had the chance to stay home with OG. My mom was not feeling too well.
We spent the morning lounging and watching cartoons. She loves watching Teen Titans and The Amazing World of Gumball. I know she doesn't really understand what is going on but it's great to see her reaction to scenes playing on screen.
She is definitely a fan of animation, like me.
After her nap, we decided to head to the park for some much needed sunshine on our faces. We visited the best park, in my eyes, as it is pretty big and I was hoping to walk the trail with her.
As soon as we walked up I noticed a man-made stream going through the playground area. It only took a few seconds until she dipped her feet in and fell in love with it. I was very jealous because I wanted to take my shoes off and dip in as well. We didn't get to walk the trail because she was too into running through the tiny stream."
Luckily he was able to capture a picture! HOW FUN IS THIS?!
Dada forgot to mention that Ms. OG was SOAKED from all the fun (in the water, not a diaper malfunction) and there was no back-up outfit in her bag (but there WAS a swim suit...soooo...ehem...next time, dada?)...so when they got home I was the lucky one to grab a soggy toddler from her car seat. Even soggy hugs are awesome!
I'm just glad everyone had a fun day. <3 Well, at least these 2 did!
Hello and Happy Monday, beautiful reader(s)! We've finally been having good weather around here, so I have a lot of #outfitenvy to share.
And oh...the envy was strong this weekend...I was thisclose to trying to fit into OG's outfit. Now THAT would have been quite the picture-worthy endeavor!
Early Saturday morning, our little family decided to go to the local Cars & Coffee event to check out the "vroom vroooms" and spend time with Auntie T and Uncle W. After a fun morning in the sun surrounded by family, fun cars, dogs and other little kiddos, it was time for a nap so we could gear up for celebrating Auntie C's birthday later that afternoon!
In short:
Weather = Sublime
Company = Sublime
Plans = Sublime
Outfit = Sublime
Sublime in every way <3
OG, fashion muse extraordinare, is wearing:
-Oversized 'Sublime' burnout baseball tee (Target, of course)
-KITTY PANTS (take 3 - also Target)
-Black cotton maryjane flats with bow (One Upon a Child)
-Black headband
-(p)Leather jacket (not pictured...yet. Also...Target)
Prancing down the street with her BFF (or at least her BFF for the day), Ducky.
And what type of fashionista would OG be if she didn't have a wardrobe change for a party?
(She'd still be a bada$$ fashionista regardless, FYI, but we thought it would be nice to have her wear something lighter since it was hot outside) :)
OG swapped out her SUBLIME shirt for something more festive:
-B&W striped dress with tutu and rosette heart (hand-me-down from Ms. Charlie)
OG trying to walk Lucy in style (and not realizing the leash must be attached to the dog for it to work)
"Why isn't this working?"
I would also be remiss not to mention OG's pal, Liam. He rocked the Sublime shirt a while back (and looked very handsome while doing so!) and therefore I'd like to give him a very special shout-out.
Please welcome our first "guest" to the blog, Mr. Liam!
Mohawk, Sublime shirt, cuffed fitted jeans, suspenders & fly kicks make for a fabulous first "guest blogger"!
Mr. Liam isn't just a pretty face with great fashion sense...this little man has been dealing with CHD since birth. He endured open-heart surgery at only 6 months old and will require further surgeries in the future, but you'd never know it when you meet him! He's a strong-willed sweetheart who has never let his heart condition bother him. He's also (literally) a poster child for Heart Awareness month:
His mama is a dear friend of mine, and she's very involved in the CHD awareness effort. She's an inspiration to many other Heart Mommies, and even I am inspired by the love and courage she shows on a daily basis. She also has a killer fashion sense which is reflected in her children's wardrobe! :)
P.S. It's difficult to find an "appropriate" Sublime song to add to this post, so I'm adding this one - it may not be "clean" for the kiddos, but at least it has a good message.
